I was JUST (literally) sitting here thinking:
“You know, a lot of the music that I sift through sounds really bad. I think it’s affecting my writing. Should I stop looking for music for a while?”
But then, fast forward 2 seconds and this track comes on….
And suddenly…
I am practically bursting with happiness and joy!
Here is the synopsis via The Fader:
Joel Ford—the New Yorker who releases electronic music as one half of Ford & Lopatin, Games, and most recently solo as Airbird—is now collaborating with like-minded Software label-mate Ian Evans aka Napolian. “Special” is the B-side off the duo’s debut single, out today via Cascine, and it’s the exact groggy disco jammer you’d expect from these two: mind-numbing, lush, and blissfully synthetic.
And yes, the description in the synopsis is true, however; they forgot to mention that this record is a flip of one of the best 80s songs EVER in life!
(And one of my most favorite songs ever in life.)
AHHHH!
I am geeking out.
And I don’t care.
This record already feels very close to my heart and I know I’ll have it on repeat for quite some time.
Please give it a listen. I hope that you’ll enjoy it too.
If you do, please be sure to go support these men by purchasing the record here.
